The Cambridge First Certificate of English (FCE) Exam Preparation Course is the best way of proving to a potential employer that you speak, read, write and can understand English to a sufficient level to work in an English-speaking company. We believe this essential addition to your CV will enhance your chances of finding a job, if you are coming from outside the UK to find employment.
This globally accepted English language qualification is run here at the Islington Centre for English (ICE), London throughout the year.
Our morning classes are aimed towards gaining a good grade in the FCE exam and you will learn the vocabulary, grammar and exam skills you need to succeed. Students often find that working towards the FCE qualification, with the exam at the end, helps to keep them motivated to concentrate on their learning, ensuring they make the best progress possible.
Please note that, since the disastrous idea that was Brexit, there are fewer students taking the Cambridge exams in the UK. So, these days, FCE and CAE exam students study together with General English students in the same class. This still works very well as you will receive tuition in all essential skill areas at the correct level along with additional support from the teacher. When we have enough exam students, we also offer extra exam-specific Cambridge First and Cambridge Advanced lessons.
At ICE, class sizes are small (with a maximum of 15 students) and are taught by tutors who are experienced, native English speakers. Running every morning from 9.15-12.00 pm, Monday to Friday, (with 12.5 hours of teaching time) you can choose to study for either 2, 3, or 4 afternoons a week.
Exam enrolment itself will be taken care of by the college and students will pay the exam enrolment fee of £160 (paper based exam) or £160 (computer based), plus a £15 registration fee.
