The best thing

Oct 28, 2014

How has the start of your week been? Has it been good? What exciting things have you done in London recently? Here's an idiom that you can use to describe those positive emotions and experiences...'it was the best thing since sliced bread'. We use it to talk about things that we think are really good. Although I'm not sure why as I don't particularly like sliced bread myself - my Mum calls it plastic bread, I think both because it comes in a plastic bag and it tastes like plastic! Good old English food! :)
